After the high-level approach via the Bealach na Ba'
with its rugged mountain scenery, one gains a distinct feeling of peace
and tranquillity upon reaching Applecross Bay and village. Perhaps this is
in part due to its seeming remoteness from the modern world outside -
motorways, speed cameras, mobile phones, "life in the fast lane", are all far
removed from here.
It is easy to understand why there was an early
Christian settlement here - Applecross is a real haven. Do take the
opportunity of visiting - we are sure you will not be disappointed - there
are walks, a beach or two, a good pub, a heritage centre, a walled garden,
to mention but a
few of the attractions.
