 | Our comfortable lounge bar is fully licensed, offering a wide
selection of fine malt whiskies, wines, and draught beers - including
traditional cask conditioned ales. Traditional ales, especially those
from Scotland, are regularly served
and include those from Isle
of Skye Brewery. |
 | There is an extensive menu for bar lunches and dinners in the lounge
bar. |
 | Accompanied children are welcome for bar meals up to 8.00pm and a
children's menu or children's portions are available. Children under 14
are permitted in the lounge bar only for the purpose of
taking a meal. We appreciate your co-operation in this regard. |
 | Our restaurant provides a
range of dishes prepared from prime Aberdeen Angus beef, local venison,
game, and lamb, and specialises in fresh local sea foods including
salmon, prawns, scallops, mussels, lobsters and crab from the cold
waters of the West Highlands. |
 | The a la carte dinner menu changes daily according to availability of
fresh produce, and is accompanied by a short but carefully selected wine
list. |

 | There are 2 food shops, a butcher, and Post Office, all within a few
minutes' easy walking distance of the hotel. In addition, the WildAid
Centre, a registered wildlife charity, is also nearby and carries a good
stock of gifts, cards, etc. |

 | There is a branch of the Bank of Scotland in Lochcarron with an
Autoteller (Cashpoint) machine; the branch is open on Monday,
Thursday, and Friday. |
 | In addition, a Royal Bank of Scotland
mobile bank visits the village every Wednesday. |

 | Lochcarron is some 63 miles due west of Inverness (the capital of the
Highlands), and stretches along the north shore of Loch Carron (a sea
loch) after which it is named. |
 | The Rockvilla Hotel stands on Main Street in the centre of the
village. |

 | The railway line from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh was described by
Michael Palin as "one of the great railway experiences. Like all
the best adventures, it has a brilliant beginning, a middle, and an
end." |
 | One of the most spectacular sections of the line is the part from
Strathcarron to Kyle where the railway hugs the coastline. Trains run
along this section daily. |

 | Lochcarron has a 9-hole golf course situated approximately 0.5 mile
east of the village. The course is in a superb setting alongside Loch
Carron, with most attractive views across the loch. Visitors are

 | Lochcarron and the surrounding area is a paradise for those who enjoy
walking, whether it be for just an hour's gentle stroll, or
alternatively a more adventurous day's hill walking. There are 12
Munro's all within a comparatively short distance of Lochcarron, making
this an ideal centre for "Munro Bagging". |
